An Optimistic Sky | The Story of Bryan William Stewart
LSU won the national Championship on January 14th, 2020. Bryan is very proud of his Tigers!
LSU
- Les Miles, Beaux had mixed feeling on crazy uncle Les. He was very
happy that LSU retained him at the end of the 2016 season but after hitting
the skids in the 2017 season, he was ready for Les to go. We certainly had
a lot of fun and adventurous Saturday afternoons and evenings in Death
Valley! To the best of my recollection, we only went to a game or two at
Tiger Stadium (aka Death Valley) but we spent countless hours watching the
games together, especially when he was at the stadium and I was home
screaming at the TV! When it comes to watching the ‘Tigas’ there was
certainly never a dull moment.
SAMPLE SOME OF THE TEXT CONVERSATIONS
On many many occasions we were literally on the edge of our seats if not
standing, hooting and hollering go LSU or, in some cases, "oh no why did you
do that LSU?" during the football games one thing about a Saturday night in
death Valley, there is never a dull moment.
I was a very happy and found it comforting as a parent when Bryan embraced the culture of the LSU. Because of his very laid-back, low-key personality, I was concerned that he would not interact and socialize while at the school. I could not have been any more incorrect (and that's a good thing) Between his love of
football, and The Daily Revelie (TDR) , he really expanded his horizons
professionally, socially and creatively.
- Beat Alabama: So as I’ve said several times, Bryan was very demure
almost all of the time. He was incredibly low key. One of the few times
that he would get fired up , and I DO mean fired up, was during an
LSU/Alabama game! As I said at the memorial service, I am convinced that
Bryan would be happy if LSU only won one game in any given year, as long as
it was… Alabama. I’ll go out on a limb but I’d resume that Angela feels
close to the same way about Auburn. ;- )
Bryan, Angela and I took great credit in bashing 'Nicky' every chance we had, he was such an easy target because he was, we'll call it 'passionate' about Alabama football
- Vs Auburn: Bryan was fairly gracious with Angela when LSU played
Auburn. We have thE coolest t-shirts that we would wear “ A House Divided” (below)
We had the fortune of being able to attend several LSU Auburn games as a
family. The shirts drew a lot of attention…
Ok, back to that comment about Bryan being gracious... This photo is an all time classic, this was at an LSU Auburn game in BR. Guess who was winning?
